A superb and difficult to find carved oak wall hanging key safe with fitted interior c.1880. Solid figured oak construction with hinged door to the front. The door carved with a large stylised sunflower to the centre and smaller circular crosshatched carvings to the corner; the frame of the door with arrow head chip carved border. The door opening with a substantial working lock with key to reveal a fitted interior with two rows of brass hooks, 12 in total to hang the keys on, plus space in the bottom to hold valuables. Secures to the wall with 2 plates to the top of the cabinet, or through the interior back board. Superbly made and presented in excellent condition, with a rich colour and patina, working lock and key (keys shown included). Measures 12" wide x 4" deep x 14" high. Stock number 43317.
