A superb quality early Victorian solid brass door stop with cast acanthus leaf design decoration to the weighted base and loop handle c.1850. The brass bell shaped base with cast acanthus leaf design overlay to the lower edge; infill lead weight for stability to the rear. Long handle sat above with cast shepherds crook design loop to the top to aid moving. Superbly made, very heavy and presented in immaculate condition. Measures 5" wide x 2.5" deep at the base x 19" high to top of handle. Stock number 43012.
