An outstanding quality Victorian solid mahogany country house hat and coat stand with revolving top c.1885. Four branch weighted foot with swept top pieces supporting the slightly tapering column and decorative ring turning at the base and below the top section. Reeded mount located below the four small hat pegs with a circular revolving coat section above. Inner swept arms supporting the circular top with turned pegs to hold the hats or coats and decorative finial to the top; internal brass washers ensures all sections revolve smoothly. Superb design and quality of construction throughout and presented in immaculate damage free condition with a rich colour and original patina.  Measures 17.5" wide at the foot x 19" diameter at the coat pegs x 17.5" deep x 64" high.
