Description

A superb George II period oak planked top 8 seat refectory table with turned bulbous legs and H base stretcher c.1740. The four board plank top overlapping the base to allow seating at each end. The table surface sat on a moulded edge carved top rail with the decoration repeated to all four sides.  Bulbous turned and carved 'cup & cover' legs set to each corner, which are supported by an H base stretcher. Superb rich colour and patina throughout, the table seats 3 to 4 people each side and 1 at each end with ease and with ample knee room. Measures 78.5" long x 31.5" wide x 29.75" high.
