A fine mid Victorian heavy quality solid Glasgow silver mug with outstanding quality decoration, hallmarked Glasgow 1875. Flared rim to the urn shaped vessel with pedestal foot to the base. Fine quality engraved decoration below the rim with panels of embossed decoration depicting different animals running continuously round the centre; engraving to match the rim below and to the foot. Scroll design handle set to the side and immaculate gilt lined interior. Bears the makers mark for Glasgow silversmiths George Edward & Sons along with clear hallmarks. Weighs 4.25 troy oz and presented in immaculate condition. Measures 3.75" wide including handle x 2.5" diameter at the rim x 4.25" high. Stock number 42732.
