A quality Victorian timber gilt framed over mantel mirror with decorative frieze and original quarter plate bevelled edge glass mirror c.1880. The timber frame with egg and dart decoration to the moulded cornice, frieze below with a band of scroll design decoration to the centre section and Olympic style torches set against laurel leaves to each side. Reeded panels with Corinthian mounts dividing the frame into three sections, each with original quarter plate bevelled edge mirror glass. Base rail with mounts to each column, original boarded back with secure fittings for wall hanging. Excellent gilt finish throughout with good mirror glass. Measures 45" wide at the cornice x 1.5" at the base x 25.5" high. Stock number 42671.
