A superb early Moorcroft Anemone flambe glazed vase in mint condition, signed William Moorcroft c.1928. Bulbous vessel with rolled neck, the shoulders of the vase decorated with a continuous band of tube lined anemones set against foliage. The flowers painted in tones of reds, pinks and deep yellow with orange. The background washed in blue under a rich flambe glaze giving off tones of browns and reds fading to a purple at the rim and foot. Signed William Moorcroft to the base along with Moorcroft factory impressions indicating a date of manufacture of c.1928-1936 and with the original paper label. Presented in immaculate perfect condition with no damage or repairs. Measures 4.5" diameter x 6.5" high. Stock number 42588.
