A superb Victorian Royal Doulton country house porcelain hot water can with floral over painted decoration c.1895. Oval form with loop handles to the top and the rear, plus spout to the side and hinged lid to the top surface. The can decorated with a blue transfer floral print design, which is overpainted in rusts, greens and yellows. Complementing olive green and gilt decoration to the spout and handles. The front of the top surface with `Hot Water` script and hinged lid; the lid opening to reveal a clean and water tight interior. Bears the Royal Doulton black Burslem factory mark indicating a year of manufacture between 1891 & 1901. Presented in excellent unworn condition with a small chip to the lid hinge joint, which does not detract from the useability of this difficult to find item. Measures 14" wide from handle to spout edge x 6.5" deep x 11" high to top of handle. Stock number CS362.
