A fine quality mid Victorian solid silver tankard with fern leaf design engraving, hallmarked London 1870. Heavy quality with rolled rim to the top and flared rim forming the foot, slightly tapering sides and plain handle set to the side. Fine quality fern leaf design engraving to each side and wreath of leaves to the side forming a cartouche. Retailed by Hall & Co, Manchester and bearing the makers mark for highly regarded silversmiths Barnard & Sons along with clear hallmarks. Presented in immaculate unused condition with a deep shine. Measures 4.5" high x 3.75" diameter at the base x 5" wide including handle. Stock number 40413.
