A small proportioned George III period mahogany chest of drawers by Gillows, Lancaster c.1790. Single piece mahogany top with moulded edge sat over four graduated drawers. Each drawer with cockbead edges and original decorative brass handles along with complementing escutcheons. The top drawer with baize lining and divided interior is stamped Gillows Lancaster on the upper edge. Moulded plinth to the base with bracket feet below and polished mahogany single piece sides. Superb quality and presented in excellent condition with a rich colour and polish. Measures 24" wide x 16" deep x 30" high. Stock number 43146.
