An Edwardian period solid mahogany kidney shaped tea caddy with Sheraton inlaid shell design decoration to the lid c.1910. Superbly made in kidney shaped form, solid mahogany base section with lock escutcheon to the front and fruit wood stringing to the base. The hinged lid with satinwood and boxwood Sheraton style shell inlay to the surface and fruit wood stringing to the edge to match the base. The lid opening to reveal an original interior with remnants of the foil lining. Presented in excellent original condition with a rich polish. Measures 5.5" wide x 4.5" deep x 4" high. Stock number 42613.
