Description

A fine quality Persian pure wool 'Turkmen' rug in superb unworn newly cleaned condition c.1910. The short hand woven pile in deep red is decorated with an interlocking geometric design of small repeated medallions in champagne creams and golds, which are outlined in black. Complementing geometric double border to the rug edge. This design is typical of the Turkmen tribes of central Iran and these rugs were often is used as a wall hangings as well as a floor rugs. Presented in superb unworn stain free condition, newly cleaned ready for use. Measures 50" long x 36" wide. Stock number 43072.
