A superb matching pair of Thompson's of Kilburn Mouseman adzed oak hall settles in wonderful condition, dated 1953. Each matching settle has a two panel back with scalloped border to the top rail and thick sides with upturned arms, which includes a trademark carved mouse to the front left arm. One settle inscribed 'Honour the Queen' and the other 'Fear God', with the Yorkshire rose emblem carved either side on both settles. Adzed finish to all surfaces typical of earlier pieces along with a wonderful rich colour and original patina. Bespoke commissioned pieces in the ownership of the original family until recently and both presented in excellent original unrestored condition. Each measures 33" wide x 16" deep x 41.5" high x 17" seat height. Stock number 42969.
