An outstanding George I period walnut kneehole desk in superb original condition and wonderful patina c.1725. Quarter veneered figured walnut top with herringbone crossbanding and moulded edge. Long shallow drawer below the surface with three drawers set either side of the kneehole, arched apron to the centre and cupboard to the recess. The drawers with choice veneers and herringbone crossbanding to match the top. Double cock beaded design frame surrounding the drawers, moulded plinth to the base with original bracket feet set to the corners. Original brass knobs and decorative brass escutcheo...ns. Wonderful rich colour and patina, presented in superb original condition with a deep shine, probably the best we have ever seen or owned. Measures 35" wide x 20" deep x 28.75" high.
