A fine quality George III period figured book matched mahogany stick barometer with engraved silvered scale and thermometer by Columbo & Co, London; fully restored and working c.1810. Architectural pediment to the top with glazed hinged door strung with chequered fruitwood and ebony, sat over the engraved silvered scale. The slim proportioned case with moulded edge and feathered book matched veneers; the edges strung to match the door. Turned cistern cover to the base. The silvered scale with vernier marker and thermometer set to the left of the mercury action barometer tube, bears the makers name Columbo & Co. Superb original mellow colour and original patina to the casework, the dial re-silvered and the movement fully overhauled and working. Presented in superb original condition with a deep shine. Measures 37.5" long x 4.5" maximum width at the top x 1.5" maximum depth at the top. Stock number 39857.
