Description

A George III period solid silver mustard pot and Bristol blue glass liner by highly regarded silversmiths Peter, Ann & William Bateman, hallmarked London 1799. Circular form with hinged domed lid, finial to the top forming the handle. Reeded rim to the top and base of the pot sides, the silver returning to the base forming a support for the liner. Scroll handle set to the side with fretwork shell crest above for opening the hinged lid. Opens to reveal a clean interior with matching tight fitting Bristol blue glass liner. Bears the makers mark for highly regarded and collected family of makers Peter, Ann & William Bateman along with clear hallmarks to all sections. Some wear to the hinge, presented in good original condition with a deep shine. Measures 3.25" wide including handle x 2.25" diameter at the base x 3.5" high.  Stock number 39839.
