Description

An early Victorian figured rosewood pen and ink box with mother of pearl inlay and original fitted interior c.1850. The figured rosewood veneered exterior with decorative mother of pearl inlays to the lid. Twin hinged lids sat either side of the turned carrying handle, single drawer to the base for storing paper and envelopes. The hinged lids opening and folding over to reveal a fitted interior with two original ink wells. Pen tray set to one side and lidded compartment to the other side to store nibs with the silver topped ink wells set either side. Presented in excellent original condition with a rich colour and original patina.  Measures 9.5" long x 6" wide x 6" high to top of handle or 3.75" high to the surface. Stock number 39722.
