An early Moorcroft pansy pattern vase with Burslem impression, signed William Moorcroft c.1913. Bulbous base with narrowing neck and flared rim; the vase decorated with a continuous band of tube lined pansies and leaf foliage. The pansy flower heads painted in tones of purples with soft green leaves, which are set against a dark blue ground. Signed William Moorcroft to the base along with Moorcroft factory impression 'Moorcroft, Burslem' indicating a date of manufacture of 1913. Presented in perfect unrestored condition with no damage or repairs. Measures 3" diameter at the widest point x 4.5" high. Stock number 42146.
