A superb early Moorcroft Anemone flambe glazed vase in mint condition, signed William Moorcroft c.1928. Bulbous vessel with broad neck, the lower half of the vase decorated with a continuous band of tube lined anemones set against foliage. The flowers painted in tones of reds, pinks and deep yellow with orange. The background washed in blue, which is under a rich flambe glaze giving off tones of browns and reds fading to a rust at the rim and foot. Signed William Moorcroft to the base along with Moorcroft factory impressions indicating a date of manufacture of c.1928-1936. Presented in immaculate perfect condition with no damage or repairs. Measures 4.5" diameter at widest point x 3" diameter at the rim x 6.25" high. Stock number 42884.
