Description

A superb 1930's 6" paper mache library globe by Philips of London sat in the original revolving and tilting brass gimbal. Broad polished mahogany foot with turned urn shaped column above. Cast brass gimbal set above with four arms forming a cradle for the central ring, internal axis allowing the globe to tilt or revolve for viewing all sections easily.  A short video of this globe is available on our YouTube channel - click here. The original 6" paper mache globe in good clear condition and bearing the makers label for George Philips & Sons, Fleet Street, London. Presented in excellent condition with a rich patina throughout. Measures 7.5" wide x 13" high x 7" diameter at the base x 6" globe diameter. Stock number 39820.
