A fine quality William IV mahogany desk chair with buttoned leather seat c.1835. The substantial solid mahogany frame with moulded top rail forming a back support and centre rail with acanthus design mounts to the ends. Scroll design open arms to the sides, sat on turned supports with moulded edge seat rail below. Turned legs with chamfered and tapering octagonal centre sections to the front with original castors to the ends, splayed legs to the rear. The drop in deep buttoned seat, upholstered in a quality dark brown leather. Ideal as a desk or occasional chair, very sturdy and usable.... Presented in excellent condition with no damage or repairs. Measures 22" wide x 22" deep x 34.5" high to top of chair back x 19" seat height. Stock number 39574.
