A rare and unusual Victorian solid silver seal, vesta and night light combination by highly regarded maker William Comyns, hallmarked London 1895. Tubular form with superb scroll work engraved decoration. One end with crown design snap closing cover for storing vesta, the opposite end with polished plate for engraving the owners initials on to form a wax seal. The cover opening to reveal a storage compartment for the sealing wax. Wick holder for the night light set to the side with two ball feet below to prevent it rolling when placed on a surface. Bears the makers mark for London silversmith ...William Comyns, heavy quality and presented in immaculate condition with a deep shine. Measures 9" long x 0.75" diameter. Stock number 38002.
