A fine quality and immaculate Victorian carved and turned walnut cased aneroid barometer with crescent thermometer by Steward of London, fully serviced and working c.1885. The broad turned solid figured walnut case with petal carved boarder set around the dial edge. Aneroid movement sat behind a porcelain dial with original mercury action crescent shaped thermometer set to the bottom half of the dial. Polished brass bezel with bevel edge glass and central reading marker. J.H.Steward highly regarded quality barometer and instrument makers started trading in 1852 and continued in business thr...ough several generations until the 1970's, this example presented in immaculate condition, fully serviced and working.
