A late Victorian polished brass cased marine barometer with porcelain dial by highly regarded maker Steward of London c.1885. Polished dished brass case with hanging loop to the top and matching brass bezel to the front. Porcelain dial with weather predictions sat around the outer edge, aneroid movement behind. Glazed view window with central reading marker sat over the dial. Bears the makers name for London barometer and instrument makers J.H Steward, Strand, London. Presented in excellent condition with a deep shine to the brass case, the movement fully serviced and working.&nbs...p;Measures 5.25" diameter x 6" high with hanging loop x 2.25" deep.
