A mid Victorian carved oak rope twist design ships barometer by Mappin & Webb, London c.1885. The solid turned and carved oak case work with rope design border. Porcelain dial with weather predictions around the outer edge, sat behind bevelled edge glass, which is mounted in a polished brass bezel with central reading marker. The aneroid movement fully serviced & working, presented in superb condition with a rich polish. Measures 7.5" diameter x 8.5" high x 2.5" deep. Stock number 41496.
