A beautifully made Victorian mahogany cased campaign barometer in immaculate fully working order c.1870. The solid figured mahogany case with chamfered edges to the hinged lid and lid locking hook to the front edge. Brass bezel with inset glazed view window and compass dial below. The hinged lid opening to reveal a fitted interior with inset compass to the base section; the compass needle released by sprung locking post every time the lid is opened with direction marker to the centre of the compass dial.
