A late Victorian golden oak cased stick barometer c.1890, made by Sutton of Whitehaven. Porcelain inverted scales with double vernier marker to the top of the mercury tube. Maker's name to the scale. Thick bevelled edge glass cover. Matching porcelain thermometer scale below with mercury flat sided thermometer tube. Carved decoration to the shaped top pediment, matching decoration to the solid oak case and rosette carved cistern cover to the base. A superb quality stick barometer, all fully restored and working. Measures 6.5" wide x 3.5" deep x 43" long. Stock no. 38126.
