Victorian Bronze of Hermes

RESERVED A fine Victorian Romanesque bronze of Hermes sat on a polished slate and marble base c.1880. Fine quality figure, which is exceptionally sculpted, depicting Hermes holding a mace with talaria (winged shoes), whilst stood on a child's fountain head. Mounted on a polished black slate and veined red marble circular plinth. Superb patination and presented in excellent original condition. Measures 5.25" diameter at the base x 11" wide x 5.5" deep x 27" high overall. Stock number 43086.
