A superbly detailed hand carved Black Forrest nut cracker c.1880. Carved in solid fruitwood and depicting and old man in traditional costume and hat sat with crossed legs on the footed base of the cracker. The nut is placed in a hole at the rear of the cracker and an internal screw mechanism cracks the nut when twisted. Presented in excellent working condition with a rich colour and original patina. Measures 2.5" wide x 2" deep x 6.5" high. Stock number CS416.
