A superb late Victorian solid embossed silver table box with country fair scene to the lid, hallmarked Chester 1900. Oblong form with fine quality embossed lid depicting musicians and Greek mythical creature Centaur, set within a scene including various buildings and the mountains of Thessaly. All sides of the box include a swag decoration, with the hing lid opening to reveal a clean lightly gilded interior. Bears the markers mark for highly regarded Chester silversmiths George Nathan and Ridley Hayes. Presented in immaculate condition with a deep shine. Measures 4.25" long x 2.5" deep x ...1" high.
