A superb and very original George III period oak cased 8 day longcase clock with engraved brass and silvered dial by John Shepley of Stockport C.1760. The quality figured oak case with red walnut crossbanding and matching columns to the hood and trunk. Fine quality brass and silvered dial with date aperture and penny moon phases surrounded by superb engraving. The 8 day duration movement with anchor escapement and count wheel striking on the hour. Superb colour and original patina to the case, fully overhauled movement. Measures 79.5" high x 23" wide at the cornice x 14" trunk width x 10" deep.... Stock number 35554.
