Superb Georgian Burr Yew Tea Caddy
A superb George III period burr yew tea caddy with original fitted interior complete with cut crystal blending basin c.1800. The burr yew exterior with boxwood and kingwood stringing to the edges. Sheffield plate lock escutcheon and loop handle to the lid, plus small turned boxwood bun feet to the base. The hinged lid with locking hinges opening to reveal an immaculate original fitted interior, which contains removable lidded caddies to each side, each with burr yew lids and banded edges to match the exterior. Original removable cut crystal blending basin sat to the centre in an i...nset burr yew aperture. Wonderful original rich colour and polish throughout and presented in outstanding original condition.
