A superb George II period walnut chest on chest with original brassware and patina c.1730. The top section with moulded cornice and reeded canted corners. Three small drawers below the cornice with additional three long drawers. Moulding forming a waist to the base section with pull out brushing slide, which forms a surface sat above three long drawers below. Book matched veneers to the drawer fronts with herringbone crossbanding and moulded edges. Moulded plinth to the base with original shaped bracket feet below, figured timber sides and oak drawer linings. Original brass handle...s and matching escutcheons with engraved decoration. Wonderful rich and even colour throughout, excellent patina. Presented in excellent original condition. Measures 41" wide at the cornice x 21" deep at the cornice (19" deep elsewhere) x 66" high.
