A superb and very original George I period walnut kneehole desk with original brassware c.1720. Quarter veneered top with Herringbone banding and moulded edge. Long top drawer sat over three drawers to each side of the knee hole, shallow drawer concealed in the apron over the knee hole. Inset cupboard to the centre. The drawers and cupboard with herringbone crossbanding to match the top, original brass fittings. Sat on a moulded base with period bracket feet to the foot. Superb rich colour and deep polish. Measures 30" wide x 18" deep x 28.5" high. Stock number CS81.
