A small shallow proportioned George II period walnut bachelors chest with fold over top and two concealed drawers c.1730. Figured walnut book matched veneered top with herringbone crossbanded edge, the top folding forward to create a square surface, pull out loper to support the surface, matching veneers to the interior. Moulded apron below with two small drawers concealed in the sides. Four graduated drawers below with book matched veneers and crossbanding to match the top. Moulded plinth to the base with original bracket feet. Original back boards and base board. Original engraved brass back... plate handles and matching escutcheons, superb colour and polish. Presented in excellent original condition. Measures 30" wide x 31.5" high x 13" deep. Stock number 37644.
