The figured rosewood exterior inlaid with broad bands of decorative brass scroll design decoration repeated to all surfaces; the edges with brass banding to match. Hinged top with original working lock and key, opens to reveal a superb original fitted interior. The red leather and velvet lined interior with comparments holding silver plated topped glass jars and boxes, scent bottles and a pad with original sewing tools; covered compartment to hold buttons an...d pin cushion. The top section lifting out to reveal a lower section lined to match the top to hold jewellery. The velvet lined lid with folder to hold notes and removable concealed free standing mirror. Presented in superb original condition with an exceptional clean interior and superb patina to the exterior, working lock and original key. Measures 12.5" wide x 9.5" deep x 6" high.
