A Regency period mahogany sewing box with original fitted interior c.1825. The oblong figured mahogany box with clipped corners and boxwood strung edges. Hinged lifting lid and single drawer to the base with two gilded knobs and complimenting lion mask handles with ring drops set to the sides. The lifting lid opening to reveal an original red paper lined interior for storage of needlework, the lower drawer fitted for holding sewing implements, thimbles and bobbins. Presented in excellent original condition with an original patina. Measures 13.5" wide x 9.5" deep x 6.25" high. Stock number CS...123.
