A rare Victorian treen lignum vitae bulldog ink well c.1880. Superbly carved with the hinged lid released by gently pressing the chin of the dog. Opens to reveal a an original brass traveling ink well with spring release lid and glass liner. Excellent detail, original amber glass eyes and superb colour and original rich patina. Presented in excellent condition. Measures 2" wide x 2.75" deep x 3" high. Stock number 38202.
