A Rare 19th Century Black Forest inkwell in the form of a dog.c.1880. Superbly detailed carving out of one piece of solid oak. The dog with his original glass eyes, sat with his drinking trough in front. The head hinged, opening to an inkwell with the original porcelain liner. The drinking trough in front forming a pen tray. Very unusual and in excellent condition. Measures 10.5" x 7" deep x 5.5" high. stock no.38253.
