A fine quality Victorian brass bound coromandel dressing box with concealed drawers, original fitted interior and solid silver topped jars, hallmarked London 1864. The figured coromandel exterior with brass bound corners and Bramah lock escutcheons, hinged lid, base drawer and concealed drawer to the side. The hinged lid opening to reveal an outstanding quality original fitted interior with engraved and gilded hinges, lock plate and inset corner reinforcers. The top section with ten original engraved silver topped cut crystal boxes, jars and scent bottles sat in the original dark blue ...leather and velvet fitted tray. Two lift out sections set to each side with scissors, plus button hooks and dressing tools with mother of pearl handles. Two push button releases to open the lower fitted jewellery tray and the concealed side drawer. Ruched velvet and leather lined lid with lift out mirror and leather letter envelope sat behind. The silver lids bearing the makers mark for London silversmiths Thomas Whitehouse along with clear hallmarks and the box with London retailers label for Howell & James, makers to Queen Victoria. Presented in outstanding original condition, with an immaculate original polish to the box, chip to the base of one crystal jar, working locks with original key.
