The figured walnut exterior with sloping front section and domed top cover to the pen and in compartment to the back. Superb quality engraved brass decorative overlays to the top and sides, matching lock escutcheon. The front section opening and folding over to form a writing surface with black leather surface and coromandel bound veneered edges. The rear of the surface opening to reveal a satinwood lined storage compartment. Engraved gilded hinges, lock plate and catches.
