Description

A fine quality Edwardian walnut partner's desk in George I style c.1910. Figured walnut veneers throughout, with original tan leather writing surface in good condition and surrounded by a veneered band with moulded outer edge. The three top drawers with bowed fronts, with a matching bow fronted moulding continuing around the sides and rear of the desk. Each pedestal with generous sized graduated drawers, choice cut veneers to each; surrounded by moulded beading forming the drawer surrounds. Moulded edge to the base with carved bracket feet set to the corners. The rear veneered and crossbanded to match the front, with cupboard to each pedestal allowing the desk to be used on both sides. Figured veneers to the sides and interior of each pedestal with crossbanded edges. Oak and mahogany construction throughout, original engraved brass fittings. The finest quality presented in superb condition, catalogue label to the base of the centre drawer for Hawker Siddeley (see image). Measures 68" wide x 35" deep x 29.5" high. Stock number 39537.
