An impressive mid Victorian large oak Ship's barometer made by J. H. Steward of London c.1880. Porcelain dial with coloured lettering to the weather predictions and maker's name, J. H. Steward (w.1857-1900) to the base. Brass bezel surround with thick bevelled edge glass and centre reading marker pointer. Solid oak rope twist carved case with superb patina. Brass wall fixings to the top and base. Full working order. Presented in immaculate condition. Measures 10.75" diameter x 12" high with hanging hook x 3" deep. Stock no. 38081.
