Large William Mellor Oil on Canvas On The Warfe
A large fine quality Victorian oil on canvas by highly regarded artist William Mellor ' On the Warfe, Bolton Woods ' c.1890. Superbly painted depicting the river Warfe flowing through Bolton Woods, cattle coming to water at the waters edge. The trees in later summer leaf with a bright sky with the sunlight giving a brightness to the trees and sky. Signed by the artist bottom left, old exhibition label to the rear. Sat in a fine quality timber gilt frame and presented in superb original condition. Measures 41.5" wide x 30" high. Stock number BA116.
