A large late George III period burr ash chest of drawers with original brass fittings c.1810. Quarter veneered top with crossbanded and moulded edge, sat above a two over three drawer formation. The drawers with burr veneers and crossbanded edges to match the top. The larger full width lower drawers with a central band to give the appearance of split drawers. Original embossed brass backplate handles with complementing lock escutcheons. Moulded plinth to the base with bracket feet below and figured ash sides. Substantial construction throughout and presented in exce...llent condition with a mellow colour and rich polish. Measures 42.5" wide x 21.5" deep x 38" high. Stock number 42842.
