A fine large George III silver lidded tankard weighing 23 troy oz in superb condition, hallmarked London 1807. Flared foot and slightly tapering sides, which includes a ridged ring sat a third of the way up the tankard forming a waist. Hinged domed lid to the top with fretted crest forming a thumb plate to aid opening. Scroll design handle set to the side with teardrop design decoration to the top and heart shaped terminal to the base. The hinged lid opening to reveal an immaculate interior. Bears the makers mark for London silversmiths Samuel Godbehere, Edward Wigan & Ja...mes Boult. A difficult to find item presented in superb repair free condition with a rich polish. Weighs 23 troy oz and measures 4.75" diameter at the base x 6.5" wide including handle x 8" high. Stock number 42302.
