A large Edwardian solid silver quaich with fretted decoration and original emerald green glass liner by highly regarded maker Mappin & Webb, hallmarked London 1907. The circular solid silver dish with fretted decoration to the sides allowing the emeral glass liner to show through; cast silver tab style handles set to each side of the rim with fretted decoration to match the sides. The centre of the base of the dish domed to hold the liner in position and small rim to the underside forming the foot. Bears the makers mark for highly regarded retailers and silversmiths ...Mappin & Webb along with clear hallmarks, weighs over 7 troy oz excluding the glass liner. Superb quality and presented in immaculate condition with a perfect liner. Measures 5.5" diameter x 8.5" wide including the handles x 2.5" high. Stock number 43376.
