A fine quality late Victorian inlaid rosewood stationary box with superb original fitted interior c.1890. The rosewood veneered and decorative fruitwood inlaid exterior with slightly domed top and fall front; working lock to the front with key. The lid lifting and the front falling to reveal an original satinwood and leather lined fitted interior. The back section with divisions to hold letters, paper and envelopes; two small drawers set to the side with white glass note tablet above. The front section folding over and opening as a writing slope with concealed interior compar...tment, original leather writing surface to match the lid and pop out pen tray with ink wells sat behind on either side.
