A fine quality George III double fusee bracket clock with bell top ebonised case, fully restored and working c.1765. The ebonised case with bell top and brass carry handle. The glazed door covering the dial with decorative cast brass insets to the top corners, moulded window surround with matching moulding to the corners. Glazed view windows set to each side and matching glazed door to the rear; moulded plinth to the base with small pad feet below. Arched brass dial with silvered chapter ring, subsidiary dial sat in the arch for the strike silence facility, date aperture to the lo...wer half of the dial. Matted dial centre and cast brass spandrels to the corners and the arch with original gilt finish; original blued steel hands. The double fusee movement with anchor escapement and bell striking on the hour, engraved back plate bearing the makers name to match the dial. James Green is recorded in Britains as working in London between 1755 and 1794. This excellent example in original condition, the movement fully overhauled and working.
