A quality George II period oak cased longcase clock with brass and silvered dial by Simpson of Oakham c.1740. The slender oak case with long door, the hood flanked by brass mounted columns mounted to the outer edge, moulded cornice sat above. Original apron foot forming bracket feet. Brass and silvered dial with date aperture, engraved with the makers name Simpson of Oakham. The 30 hour movement string on the hour on a bell, fully restored and working. Original colour and patina to the case, working lock and key. Presented in superb condition. Measures 79" high x 20" max width at the cornice... x 8.5" deep x 11.5" trunk width. Stock number CS100.
